Privacy Policy

Oui Wish! is a wishlist for everything you want, on the web at ouiwish.app and as an iPhone app. It's run by Aitor Recalde, an individual in Georgia, USA ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect, why, who helps us run Oui Wish!, and the choices you have. Questions or requests: support@ouiwish.app.
The short version
- We collect what Oui Wish! needs to work: your sign-in, your lists and wishes, and basic usage statistics.
- We don't sell your information, show ads, or use it for advertising.
- Your notes are private. Shared links show your first name and the shared wishes, nothing more.
- You can delete your account, and everything in it, at any time from Profile.
What we collect
Your account. When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name, email address, profile photo (as a web address), which sign-in you used, and when your account was created and last signed in. If you use Apple's "Hide My Email", we only see Apple's private relay address. If you continue as a guest, we only get an anonymous ID.
Your wishlist. The lists you make, the wishes you save (their names, descriptions, prices, links, the web addresses of their pictures and the shops' names), your notes, the order you arrange things in, and the beret on your profile picture.
When you were last active, as a date and time, so we know an account is in use.
Share links: which list or wish you shared, and when.
Usage statistics. We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how Oui Wish! is used: events such as signing in, adding a wish, making a list, sharing or searching, and which screens you open. Google Analytics also records technical details like your device type, operating system, app version and approximate location (country or city, from your internet address). We never send it your name, email, notes, links, or anything you type, including what you search for. We don't use advertising identifiers, and advertising features are turned off.
Security checks. To make sure requests come from the real Oui Wish! and not from bots, we use Firebase App Check: Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise on the website, and Apple's App Attest in the iPhone app. These look at signals from your browser or device to tell genuine use from abuse.
Technical logs. Our servers keep short-lived logs of requests and errors, to keep Oui Wish! running and secure.
How we use it
To run Oui Wish!: keeping your wishes in sync across your devices, showing the links you share, reading the pages you paste, and searching when you ask. To keep it secure and stop abuse. To understand how it's used, so we can make it better. And to answer you when you write to us.
We don't sell your information, and we don't share it for advertising or marketing.
Who helps us run Oui Wish!
- Google (Firebase and Google Cloud) stores your account and wishlist data, runs our servers, provides sign-in, Analytics and security checks (App Check and reCAPTCHA Enterprise), and hosts the website.
- Apple provides Sign in with Apple and App Attest in the iPhone app.
- Google also provides Sign in with Google.
- SerpAPI: when you use "Search online", the words you search for are sent to SerpAPI, which returns results from Google Shopping. Searches aren't linked to your name or email.
- Shops' websites: when you paste a link, our server visits that page to read its name, price and picture. The shop sees a request from our server, not from you. The pictures of your wishes are loaded straight from the shops' websites, so those sites can see your device's internet address, as with any web page.
These providers process data on our behalf, under their own privacy and security commitments.
Shared links
When you share a list or a wish, anyone with the link can see it without signing in: the list's or wish's name, the wishes in it (names, pictures, prices, links and shops) and your first name. They never see your notes, your email address or your account. Share links are long and random, so they can't be guessed. You can see and stop all of your shared links in Profile, and a stopped link stops working right away.
Where your data is kept
Your account and wishlist are stored by Google Cloud in the United States.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and wishlist for as long as you have an account.
- Deleting your account (Profile → Delete my account) deletes your lists, wishes, notes, share links and sign-in straight away. For Sign in with Apple, it also removes Oui Wish!'s access to your Apple ID.
- Guests: signing out as a guest deletes everything, and guest accounts unused for 30 days are deleted automatically.
- Usage statistics are kept by Google Analytics for a limited time, under its data retention settings.
- Technical logs are kept for a limited time, then deleted.
Your choices and rights
You can see and change your lists, wishes and notes in Oui Wish! at any time, and delete your account and everything in it from Profile. You can also write to support@ouiwish.app to ask for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete it. Depending on where you live (for example in California, or in the European Union or the UK), you may have further rights, such as to object to or restrict how your data is used. We'll answer within 30 days, and we won't treat you differently for asking.
Children
Oui Wish! isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you think a child has given us information, write to us and we'll delete it.
Security
Your connection to Oui Wish! is encrypted, and our database rules let each person reach only their own data. No service can promise perfect security, but we work to protect yours.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top, and we'll let you know in Oui Wish! about any important changes.
